Refund Policy – The Academy of IELTS
Clear, fair, and legally protective guidelines for training fees and exam registration (IELTS & PTE).

This refund policy explains exactly when you are eligible for a refund – and when you are not – for our training programs and exam registration services. Please read carefully before making any payment. By paying any fee to The Academy of IELTS, you agree to the terms below.

| Exam Registration Fees | Fees paid through The Academy of IELTS to register you for the official IELTS exam (British Council, IDP, or AEO) or the official PTE exam (Pearson). These fees are collected by us on behalf of third-party test providers. |
⚠️ Important: Exam registration fees are governed by the refund policies of the test provider (British Council, IDP, AEO, or Pearson). The Academy of IELTS cannot override those policies. We will assist you in filing a refund claim, but the final decision rests with the test provider.
2️⃣ Training Fees – IELTS & PTE Courses
Applies to all programs: IELTS Academic, General, Life Skills, PTE Academic/Core/Home and consulting services.
✅ Full Refund Eligibility
- Request cancellation before the first class begins AND within 7 days of payment (48hr before session). → 100% refund
- The Academy cancels a course permanently → 100% refund of undelivered portion
🔄 Partial Refund (Pro-rated)

🚫 No Refund Scenarios
- Attended 4+ classes, missed classes without notice, decided course is “too difficult”, found cheaper alternative after enrollment.
- Violation of conduct policy (disruptive behavior, cheating on mock tests).
- Request more than 30 days after last attended class.
🔄 One-Time Transfer Option
Instead of refund, you may transfer (before 4th class) to later batch or different course (fee difference applies). Transfer to another person not permitted.
3️⃣ IELTS Exam Fee (Paid Through The Academy)
We forward your exam fee directly to British Council, IDP, or AEO. We act as registration facilitator.

📌 IELTS Provider Reference (May 2026): British Council, IDP & AEO offer 75% refund if cancelled 5+ weeks before test, 50% if 3-5 weeks, 0% under 3 weeks. One Skill Retake (OSR) is non-refundable once registered.
4️⃣ PTE Exam Fee (Paid Through The Academy)

PTE Voucher Refund: Unused voucher refund within 30 days; used or redeemed vouchers are non-refundable.
5️⃣ General Conditions That Apply to All Fees
- Processing Time: 15–30 business days from approval, using original payment method.
- Bank Charges: Non-refundable gateway/bank fees.
- No refund for free services: diagnostic tests, consultation first 20min, downloadable PDFs.
- Fraudulent or abusive requests: We reserve right to deny refund, ban enrollment, and report misconduct.
- Force Majeure: Natural disaster/lockdown → reschedule or pro-rated refund for undelivered classes.
- Right to Amend: Policy updates apply prospectively; version at payment time governs.
6️⃣ How to Request a Refund
- Submit written request to info@theacademyofielts.com with subject:
REFUND REQUEST – [Your Name] – [Course/Exam] - Include full name, phone, course/exam type, payment date, amount, reason, and receipt.
- Acknowledgment within 2 business days.
- Decision within 7 business days (approved/denied/partial).
- If approved, refund executed within 15–30 business days.
- Escalation: Second review by senior manager or complaint to Pakistan Consumer Protection Council (for training fees).
📧 Refund requests are only processed via email. WhatsApp messages are for general support but formal requests require email trail.

❓ Can I get a refund if I attended 3 classes but disliked the teaching style?
Yes – you are within the pro-rated window (25% refund per table in Section 2). However, we encourage discussing concerns first; we can adjust batch or instructor.
❓ The Academy cancelled my course. Do I get a full refund?
Yes. If we permanently cancel a course you paid for, you receive 100% refund of undelivered classes.
❓ I paid IELTS fee through The Academy, but British Council refused refund. What now?
We will assist in filing an appeal or complaint with British Council, but final decision rests with provider. We cannot override their policy.
❓ How long do I have to request a refund after my course ends?
Within 30 days of last attended class. After 30 days, no refunds available.
❓ Can I transfer my course fee to another person?
No. Course fees are non-transferable to another individual. You may transfer to a different batch or course for yourself (one-time only).
❓ Does this policy cover study abroad consulting fees?
Yes. If no work has started (university selection, SOP editing), full refund within 7 days of payment. Once work begins, refund is pro-rated based on hours spent.
